The most popular WeChat messages application has reportedly achieved a new record of one billion users recently. Local and international users benefit hugely from the well-known application which eventually led to its popularity all over the globe due to its sufficiency and ease in messaging feature.
And with smart phones, iPads, and technological devices becoming part of almost everyone’s daily life worldwide, it has become easier and simpler to navigate through massaging applications trying to find the most popular and, more importantly, the most suitable for our day-to-day needs. Yet one must keep in mind that the huge number of one billion users is not precisely individual users, for a single user can create multiple accounts. In fact, the WeChat application provides its users with multiple and various services, ranging from sending and receiving messages, calling and connecting with friends, partners and other people around the world, paying pills, ordering food, buying tickets and making appointments.
Additionally, the Chinese application appeals to more customers due to its completely fee-free services presented to low-income workers, which, surely, makes it join the bundle of total free messaging applications that provide enormous services with no fees. The application apparently seeks to increase its dominance in various continents, ranging from Asia to Europe.
International users are main players in increasing the popularity of WeChat; especially users from USA and Southeast Asia, for instance. Still, the WeChat application must consider that there are older and more established applications in the global market which, indeed, leaves little space for new coming chat and messages programmers.
The major goal of WeChat, obviously, is to dominate more markets and to expand from local societies to international ones. The fierce competition with other messaging and chat applications, such as Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp, prompts WeChat to exert more effort trying to reach the largest number of users as possible. Facebook messenger, Facebook Lite, Whatsapp and other applications have lured massive numbers of users, and that is why WeChat application is starting to spread its services to new areas and communities in order to increase its users even more globally.
In addition, the popular application is making noticeable attempts to participate in new markets in other communities; Africa and the Middle East for instance. And with the multiple services WeChat presents its users with, it seems quite likely that the application may conquer new areas.
